I am now 9 weeks and 2 days along. According to the What to Expect app my baby is about the size of a green olive but it’s growing fast! There’s a lot going on with this little one and my body is feeling it!
A couple of weeks ago my pregnancy app told me my baby had a tail but now that tail is going away. Too bad, it had a good chance of being a velociraptor with a tail. 😉 The baby has little webbed fingers and toes and the lungs are developing. The little muscles are forming…how cute? I also learned that my little one is moving around but I won’t be able to feel it for a while. It’s really exciting to get updates on what’s going on and how the baby is growing.
With all the fun things going on with the baby there are a few not so fun things going on with me. The cramping is gone, so that’s nice. After I started drinking a ton of water it made everything better. However, two weeks ago I started getting nauseous. At first I thought it was because I had just worked out and hadn’t eaten much but the nausea didn’t go away. I think I jinxed myself since I kept telling people I’d been lucky enough to not have nausea…HA! Then I talked to an awesome momma and she asked about my prenatal vitamins. I learned that too much iron in the first trimester can make you sick to your stomach and the vitamins I was taking had 150% of my daily value of iron. I decided to switch to some gummy vitamins and I’ve been much better! I still feel a little nauseous at night and sometimes throughout the day but for the most part it’s MUCH better. I’ve also been extremely tired! I feel like I could sleep all day! I tried to take a 45 minute nap one day and ended up sleeping for 2 hours instead.
I have about 3 weeks left in the first trimester. I’m hoping with the new trimester comes more energy and less sickness.
I’m still waiting for my first appointment. I have about a week and a half left. We’ll get to see the baby and hear the heartbeat!!
I was going to try to add a nifty video about what’s going on with the baby but I’m not that good with technology!
Hopefully soon I’ll have a fun ultrasound picture to share. 🙂
